The documentary filmmaking resource I wished existed when I was starting out...

After a lot of deliberation and back and forth battling with my nerves, I finally took the plunge and started a YouTube channel. As a documentary cinematographer and filmmaker, I’ve consumed countless hours of YouTube content over the years, most for self-education purposes. I’ve used YouTube to learn technical settings, editing workflows, business advice, and as a source of creative inspiration. The platform has given me so much that I wanted to finally give something back, to contribute to the conversation instead of just sit on the sidelines. The problem is, it’s terrifying…

So here it is, the start of a new project, one that I hope will continue for a long time to come. I want this channel to be the resource I wished existed when I was trying to break into the photography and film industries more than ten years ago. This won’t be a technical channel, as I’ve never been the type of DP to scrutinize the fine details of a camera or piece of gear, but I will talk about the tools that I’ve found helpful to me personally. But more than being another sales outlet for camera companies, I’d like this channel to help young filmmakers, cinematographers, and photographers, on their journey towards becoming the professionals of tomorrow by sharing the advice and knowledge that I’ve picked up along the way.
